Damien Joubert

Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer at Prophesee

Damien Joubert has worked in a variety of roles since 2013. In 2013, they completed a work experience as a Stage Ouvrier at KEOLIS LYON, where they were responsible for maintenance of the trains and repair of an electronic test bench. In 2014, they completed a work experience as a Stage d'initiative personnelle: Développement Logiciel at Solvay, where they developed software for evaluation, ranking, and analysis of subcontractors, as well as managing a Microsoft SQL server and configuring firewalls. In 2015, they completed a work experience as a Stage d'initiative personnelle: Suivi de visage sur images infra-rouges at Laboratoire Hubert Curien. In 2016, they worked as a Stagiaire Ingénieur R&D ADAS at Groupe Renault, and also began a PhD Student role at the same company. TheirPhD research focused on the characterization, simulation, and optimization of sensors, the design of event-based algorithms to extract and exploit modulated light, benchmarking between event-based data and conventional frames to train neural networks on a detection task, and the fusion of both modalities to build reliable vision systems. In 2019, they began a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neuromorphic Space Imaging role at Western Sydney University. Most recently, in 2021, they began a Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer role at PROPHESEE.

Damien Joubert has a varied educational history, beginning with their Baccalaur\u00e9at S from Lyc\u00e9e Charles Nodier in 2008-2011. Damien then attended Lyc\u00e9e Victor Hugo between 2011-2013, where they studied MPSI puis MP*. In 2013-2016, they attended T\u00e9l\u00e9com Saint-Etienne and earned their Dipl\u00f4me d'ing\u00e9nieur in the fields of Electronique, Syst\u00e8mes embarqu\u00e9s, Imagerie, Traitement du signal, and Probabilit\u00e9s. From 2015-2016, they attended Universit\u00e9 Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne and earned their Master Mod\u00e9lisation, Analyse et Visualisation des Images, specializing in Hachage, Tatouage d'image, Calcul sur GPU, GLSL, and Mod\u00e8les Markoviens. Finally, from 2016-2019, they attended Universit\u00e9 Clermont Auvergne and earned their Doctorat in Sciences pour l\u2019ing\u00e9nieur.
