Desiree Matia, MFA has a diverse work experience in the field of arts education. Desiree started their career at Propel Schools in 2008 as an Art Teacher for grades K-8. In this role, they developed lesson plans, led classes, and facilitated activities with students. Desiree also took the initiative to lead after-school art clubs and extra-curricular activities. After completing their tenure as an Art Teacher in 2013, they returned to Propel Schools in 2016 and took on various roles within the organization.
