Between 2011 and 2013, Zoe (Zhengyi) Zhu worked as the Head of the Film Production Department at Beijing City University. In 2015, they served as a Teaching Assistant at the San Francisco Art Institute. In 2016, they volunteered at the San Francisco Film Society and worked as an Art Production Assistant for (Out)Caste-AFI Thesis at The American Film Institute. Zoe (Zhengyi) also worked as an Acquisitions & Marketing Coordinator and Sales Support Coordinator at VMI Worldwide from August 2016 to January 2017. In January 2017, they joined Shoreline Entertainment as an Acquisitions & Production Assistant. In the same year, they worked as a Set/Office Production Assistant at The Whitelist Collective from January to June. Since August 2017, they have been working at Propaganda GEM, initially as a Project & Brand Coordinator and currently as a Project & Client Manager.

Zoe Zhu pursued their education beginning in 2010 when they earned their Bachelor's Degree in Digital Film & TV from Beijing City University. Following that, they enrolled at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2014 where they obtained a Master's Degree with a film emphasis between 2014 and 2016.
