Mariano Cilia is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector, currently serving as VP of Engineering at Proofpoint since May 2020. Previously, Mariano held several key positions at McAfee from October 2014 to May 2020, including Sr Director and Director of Engineering. Mariano's career began at Intel Corporation, where roles included Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager from September 2006 to September 2014. Earlier experience includes a researcher position at TU Darmstadt's Technology Transfer Office and Distributed Systems Group from 2002 to 2006. Mariano Cilia holds a PhD in Computer Science from Technische Universität Darmstadt, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and a Software Engineer degree in Computer Science from Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires.
