Progressive Design, Inc. is currently seeking an entrepreneurial spirited Senior Process Engineer.

This is a full time/direct hire position located in Midlothian, Virginia (Richmond, VA area)聽however open to considering hybrid role for experienced candidates.

Key Requirements & Responsibilities: 路 Responsible for performing engineering duties on assigned projects including equipment specifications, process piping, material handling and conveying, HVAC, and other mechanically related engineering and design. 路聽Manage the engineering and design process from inception to completion. This includes: leading projects, work planning, directing and overseeing designers and engineers assigned to your projects, design reviews (both internal and with client), and checking deliverables (calculations, drawings, technical reports) 路聽Chemical Engineering undergraduate degree from an ABET accredited school

Job Responsibilities: 路聽Direct customer interface and coordination 路聽聽Develop detailed scopes of work 路聽聽Compile detailed project estimates (project, engineering and construction) 路聽聽Manage scope, schedule, and budget 路聽聽Manage the engineering and design process from inception to completion. This includes: leading projects, work planning, directing and overseeing designers, design reviews (both internal and with client), and checking deliverables (calculations, drawings, technical reports) 路聽聽Exercise innovative cost efficiency approaches in the project design to reduce construction costs and increase productivity 路聽聽Prepare PFDs and P&IDs 路聽Size and specify typical process equipment such as pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, chillers, condensers, mixers, distillation and absorption columns, etc. 路聽聽Perform calculations to size and specify process, service and utility piping systems 路聽聽Perform calculations to size and specify safety relief devices 路聽聽Review equipment submittals for accuracy and validate against specifications 路聽Develop and/or verify mass and energy balances 路聽Maintain familiarity with various industrial codes such as ASME and API 路聽Visit customer sites for field work 聽 Job Requirements: 路聽Chemical Engineering undergraduate degree from ABET accredited school 路聽聽10+ years of heavy industrial experience in a design or process engineering role. 路聽聽聽Virginia Professional Engineer preferred but not required 路聽聽聽Must have heavy industrial experience, experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, or bio-processing industries is a plus 路聽聽聽Project management experience 路聽聽聽Experience working in a multidiscipline engineering consulting firm 路聽聽聽Process safety experience (PHAs, HAZOPs, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Inherently Safer Design, Documentation to support process safety, etc.) 路聽聽Current working knowledge of safety relief device code requirements, calculations, sizing and system design procedures 路聽 Current working knowledge of chemical engineering principles with an emphasis on fluid mechanics, mass and heat transfer, and thermodynamics 路聽聽聽Working knowledge of Aspen or HYSIS 路聽聽聽Must be technically sound, and be willing to mentor junior engineers 路聽聽聽Strong communication and organizational skills 路聽聽聽Strong ethics and corporate loyalty 路聽聽聽Must be results oriented 路聽聽聽Must be a team player 路聽聽聽聽Must possess uncompromised commitment to quality 路聽聽聽聽Must be US citizen, have a Valid U.S. Driver's License, Clear Background, Pass a Drug test
