Steve McLain has a extensive work experience spanning over several companies. Steve started their career as an Intern at The Physical Science Labatory (PSL), where they developed a DOS-based weather data collection program. Steve then worked as a Software Engineer at Xerox XSoft and Xerox, where they developed and supported a distributed mail system. Steve also worked at Novell as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and supported a highly distributed directory services system. At Senforce Technologies, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. Steve later joined Novell again as a Consulting Software Engineer, developing endpoint security software. Steve then worked at Ipswitch, Inc. - WhatsUp Gold as an Architect, Development Manager, and Principle Software Engineer, responsible for network device discovery and management software. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Software Engineering at Progress.
Steve McLain earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from New Mexico State University between 1983 and 1988. Steve also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the same university.
