Peter DeVita has had a long and varied career. Peter is currently the President of Engineers for the Profession Inc since March 2021. Previously, they held various roles at Professional Engineers Ontario, including running for the President-Elect position in the 2017 elections and serving as a volunteer President, Member of Council, and Chair of many committees. Peter has made major contributions to the Engineering Profession, such as creating the Enforcement Committee, establishing the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, and chairing the Emerging Disciplines Task Force. Peter has also been a member of the Energy Task Force at the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers and held roles at DeVita Associates, TUCC (Chair of Finance and Investment), RHUC (Net Zero Chair), and Centennial College (Special Projects Manager).
Peter DeVita attended Sheridan College from 2011 to 2017, specializing in Professor/Instructor. Prior to that, they obtained their BASc & MASc degrees in Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto - University of St. Michael's College, from 1965 to 1974. Additionally, Peter DeVita holds a Certificate in Mediation and Negotiation from York University.
