We are looking for a talented & highly skilled Industrial Designer with extensive experience designing distinctive and meaningful products & packaging within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. 

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from an accredited school; master’s degree in design thinking is a plus. Candidates are required to provide a compelling portfolio of remarkable industry relevant work including case studies that chronicle foundational consumer insights through design exploration and development culminating in commercialization.

Responsibilities

  • Senior member of staff of industrial designers with growth opportunity to lead ID team in the future
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to tackle unstructured problems, build strategic frameworks and assist with the identification innovative solutions, even when faced with limitations and constraints
  • Responsible for client satisfaction in regard to assigned Industrial Design deliverables, including project-based CAD & prototyping
  • Supports account teams by accurately estimating resources and associated hours of team to ensure project profitability
  • Ensures competitively superior work by continuing to improve upon state-of-the-art creative communication techniques including sketches, renderings, animations, mockups, prototypes, and presentations
  • Effectively collaborates with account management, strategy & insights, technologies & development, prototyping teams
  • Ensures team deliverables achieve objectives with high quality work on time and within budget
  • Promotes team knowledge, strategic thinking and skill development to increase quality, speed, and effectiveness

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an industrial designer working within FMCG industry; structural packaging experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design from an accredited school; master’s degree in I.D. and or design thinking is a plus
  • Hands on abilities & proficiency in sketching, rendering, prototyping, presentation layouts; CAD proficiency is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge in materials and high-speed/high-volume manufacturing processes; sustainability expertise is a plus
  • Education in human factors (ergonomics & anthropometrics) and demonstrated abilities to improve user experience; expertise in universal/inclusive design is a plus
  • Experience performing user research with direct observation of consumer behavior
  • Strategic, direct, decisive, and able to effectively mentor & direct team in the successful accomplishment of goals and deliverables
  • Ability to multitask and successfully support multiple client challenges at a time
  • Exhibits talent for the creation, evaluation, and selection of aesthetically pleasing forms
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present work in an articulate, enthusiastic and professional manner
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Keyshot, SolidWorks, or comparable software; Artios CAD is a plus
