Alex Dougherty is the Director of Cyber Security at Prodigy Education. Alex has over 8 years of experience in IT management and information security. Alex previously worked as an IT Manager at Bluesun Inc, where they were responsible for IT operations, data center management, networks, and Azure and VMware based servers. Alex was also the subject matter expert on data sovereignty and privacy legislation, data security, encryption, and system architecture. Alex also worked as a Team Leader for Infrastructure and Security at the Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) for over 4 years. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of 6-8 IT professionals and overseeing all infrastructure and security operations.

Alex Dougherty has a Certified Information Security Manager certification from the Infosec Institute, a Certificate in Project Management Applied Tools and Techniques from the University of Waterloo, and various certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), ISACA, BSI, SSCA, Inc., Prosci, ORCHANGO, Watsec Cyber Risk Management, and Microsoft.

They are on a team with Mario Uccello - Director, Engineering, Danny Frade - Director, Engineering, and Saurabh Kapoor - Director, LACE. Alex Dougherty reports to Jean-Luc Dery, Chief Technology Officer.
