Eleni Stergiou is currently a PhD candidate at Karolinska Institutet, starting in December 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a research associate at Procella Therapeutics AB from December 2021 to November 2023, focusing on developing a stem cell-derived drug product for cardiac tissue regeneration. Eleni also contributed to research at Karolinska Institutet on human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived in vitro models for neurological drug screening from October 2020 to July 2021. Other positions include a student researcher role at Uppsala University in November 2019, where Eleni investigated endothelial cell interactions in cancer progression, and earlier research positions at Karolinska Institutet involving deep proteomics to identify drug targets in cancer therapy. Eleni's academic background includes a master's degree in Molecular Medicine from Uppsala University and a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry & Biotechnology from the University of Thessaly.
