Nico Salas has a range of experience in healthcare, program management, and community organizing. They are currently working at Privia Health as the Director of Value-Based Care, a role they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Privia Health as a Senior Program Manager, specializing in value-based care, from March 2021 to March 2023. Before joining Privia Health, Nico worked at the Maryland Department of Health as a Practice Transformation Coach from October 2018 to March 2019, where they assisted client practices in transitioning to advanced primary care and value-based payment models. They also worked at Health Quality Innovators as a Physician Practice Specialist from August to October 2018, and as a Physician Practice Coordinator from January 2017 to August 2018. Nico Salas has a diverse education history. In 2012, they obtained a Master's Degree in Health Education and Health Communication from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Nico then pursued another Master's Degree in Biblical and Pastoral Studies from Bethlehem College & Seminary, which they completed in 2016. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Society from Beloit College in 2012.
In addition to their degrees, Nico Salas has also obtained certifications in the field of strategic planning and project management. In November 2016, they received a Strategic Planning Fundamentals certification from LinkedIn, and in October 2016, they earned a Project Management Simplified certification, also from LinkedIn.
To enhance their skill set, Nico Salas pursued a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp in 2017, demonstrating their interest in computer software engineering.
