Alana Theiss, CPA, currently serves as the Director of Financial Operations and Controller at PRISM, overseeing a risk-financing joint powers authority with $1.5 billion in annual revenues and 2,100 members across California since January 2021. Prior to this role, Alana held the position of Senior Manager, Pool Accounting at Sedgwick from November 2018 to December 2020, managing the finance function for five public entity risk pools with over $200 million in total assets. Alana's expertise also includes a tenure as Senior Manager, Pool Accounting at Bickmore, which later rebranded to Sedgwick. Earlier, Alana worked as a Manager at James Marta & Company LLP, providing full cycle accounting and auditing services for numerous entities across multiple states. Alana's foundational experience includes roles in accounts payable and purchasing at American Automatic Fire Protection, Inc. Alana earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Phoenix and an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting from Heald College.
