Roy Machamire, FSA, CERA, MAAA has a diverse work experience in the actuarial field. Roy currently serves as a Principal Actuary at Priority Health, starting in 2022. Prior to this, from 2020 to 2022, they were the Director of Actuarial Services at Sanford Health.

In addition to their actuarial roles, Roy has also held leadership positions in various organizations. From 2020 to 2022, they served as a Board Member for the North Dakota Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association.

Roy is also involved in non-profit work. Roy co-founded and chaired The International Shine Bright Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on building orphanages in developing countries, from 2017 to 2021.

Furthermore, Roy has contributed to the actuarial community. In the 2020 Actuarial Research Conference, they served as a leader for the COVID-19 Health Special Invited Sessions as part of the Scientific Committee.

Prior to their current positions, Roy has worked at Kaiser Permanente as an Associate Actuary, Senior Actuarial Analyst, and Actuarial Analyst II from 2016 to 2020. Roy also served as an Adjunct Instructor at Community College of Denver from 2017 to 2019.

Before focusing on their actuarial career, Roy held financial roles as the Chief Financial Officer at Rich Distribution LLC and Rich Bar and Lounge from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Consulting/Financial Strategist from 2012 to 2013.

Roy's early experience in the actuarial field includes working as an Actuarial Analyst at Humana from 2014 to 2016.

Roy Machamire, FSA, CERA, MAAA holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Actuarial Science and Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which they obtained in 2015. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska at Kearney from 2009 to 2013, where they majored in Mathematics, Business Administration, and Economics, earning a triple Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.

In terms of professional certifications, Roy obtained the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation in August 2019, the CERA designation in July 2017, and the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation in February 2017. These certifications were issued by the Society of Actuaries.
