Michael Wells serves as the Vice President of the Prince Georges County Professional Firefighters & Paramedics Association, Local 1619, since January 2024, and is the Peer Support Director at the Professional Fire Fighters of Maryland (PFFMD) since March 2022. As a firefighter at the Prince George's County Fire Department since October 2006, Michael provides emergency services while conducting building inspections and fire prevention education. In addition, Michael has been a Master Instructor with the International Association of Fire Fighters since August 2018, educating peer support teams across North America on first responder behavioral health. Michael previously coordinated the Peer Support Team for IAFF Local 1619 from June 2018 to December 2023, focusing on providing crisis assistance and promoting mental fitness. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a degree in Fire Science from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Frederick Community College.
