Patrik Engstrom is a Principal Scientist and Team Lead at Primrose Bio, responsible for developing and implementing research strategies while mentoring team members. Previously, at Primordial Genetics, Patrik Engstrom directed the evolution of RNA polymerases and engaged in mRNA design. During a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley, research focused on how intracellular pathogens evade innate immunity, leading to significant discoveries about bacterial defenses. Patrik Engstrom earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from Umeå University, where research involved the biology of Chlamydia and identification of drugs to combat infections, alongside experience as a Teaching Assistant in laboratory courses on Microbiology and Molecular Biology.
