Abimael Mercado is a Senior Engineer at Primetals Technologies since August 2023, with previous experience as a Design Engineer at ANDRITZ from September 2018 to August 2023, where responsibilities included machinery design and leading major projects. Prior to that, a Mechanical Engineer at Webex Precision Rolls focused on designing precision rolls and machinery for various industries. Abimael also served as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at iRobot, contributing to the development of home cleaning robots, and as an Infantry Squad Leader in the US Marine Corps, overseeing combat readiness and tactical operations. Additional experience includes working as a Licensed Sheet Metal Technician at New England Mechanical Services, collaborating on mechanical system designs. Abimael holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
