Tim van Houten has a diverse work experience. Tim started their career in 2006 at NZA New Zealand Auckland Store Amsterdam, where they worked in sales for nearly 10 years. In 2015, they joined Beconnected Industrial as an ERP Project Manager. The following year, they moved to Van der Erve NV and worked as part of the Finance Circle. In 2017, they joined Makro Nederland and held various roles, including Junior Business Controller and Commercial Data Specialist. During their time at Makro Nederland, Tim also served as the Treasurer from 2018 to 2021. Currently, they are working at PRIME I Retail & Trade Solutions as a Business Analyst, starting in June 2021.

Tim van Houten obtained a Bachelor's degree in Econometrie from the University of Amsterdam, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Accountancy & Controlling, concentrating in the Controlling variant, at the University of Amsterdam from 2014 to 2015.
