Mesay Bejiga

Machine Learning Scientist at Macro-Eyes

Mesay Bejiga, Ph.D. is a Machine Learning Scientist at macro-eyes. With progressive research experience in building machine learning models for remote-sensing image analysis, especially while dealing with scarcity of labeled data, Mesay has experience in deploying machine learning models using industry-standard tools. His doctoral work at the University of Trento, Italy included synthesizing remote sensing images from ancient text descriptions (written by geographers before the 17 century) using Generative adversarial networks (GANs).

Prior to joining macro-eyes, Mesay participated in an AI Fellowship at Insight where he built an AI model that can translate sign language into text in order to facilitate the communication between deaf and hearing individuals.
