Zihan Zhang has a diverse work experience in scientific research. In 2015, Zihan worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Nankai University. Starting in 2016, Zihan became a Visiting Researcher at Purdue University. In 2017, Zihan joined Indiana University Bloomington as a Research Associate and later took on the role of Associate Instructor. At Indiana University Bloomington, they were involved in various projects, including the development of a biomedical device for diagnosing sepsis, investigating host-pathogen interactions, and studying inflammation in vitro. Currently, Zihan works as a Scientist I at Prime Medicine, Inc.

Zihan Zhang's education history begins in 2013 when they enrolled at Nankai University for their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. They completed the program in 2017. In the same year, they also became a visiting scholar at Purdue University, focusing on Chemical Engineering.

Zihan then pursued higher academic achievements at Indiana University Bloomington, starting their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Chemistry in 2017. They are expected to complete this program in 2023.

In terms of additional certifications, Zihan obtained the "Working with Amphibians in Research Settings" certification from CITI Program in February 2018.
