Sergii Kyrychenko has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Sergii began as a Laboratory Assistant at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Department of Pharmacokinetics in 2004, where they performed neurosurgery and conducted behavior testing on rodents. Sergii then moved on to become a Junior Research Scientist and later a Leading Engineer at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Department of Experimental Therapeutics. In these roles, they studied vascular abnormalities and arterial hypertension, as well as initiated and established a Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology.
Subsequently, Sergii joined Rutgers New Jersey Medical School as a Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of dystrophic cardiomyopathy development in Duchene muscular dystrophy. Sergii later joined the UT Southwestern Medical Center as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they made significant contributions to the field of cardiac regeneration using human stem cells.
Most recently, Sergii has been working at Goldfinch Bio as a Scientist II, Biology, and Senior Scientist I at Prime Medicine, Inc. At Goldfinch Bio, they led lab activities supporting the development and optimization of a hiPSC-organoids platform for drug discovery, as well as developed novel analytics tools for target validation and compound characterization. Their work at Prime Medicine, Inc. is ongoing.
Throughout their career, Sergii has gained expertise in various techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, cell culture, molecular cloning, and microscopy.
Sergii Kyrychenko completed their Master of Biology degree in Biology, Human and Animal Physiology from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, in the years 2001 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Pharmacology from the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology in Kyiv, Ukraine, between 2006 and 2009. In 2014, Sergii became a trainee at Stanford University School of Medicine, where they focused on Stem Cells. The end date for their training at Stanford University School of Medicine is not provided.
