Crystal Kelly

Vice President of Programs and Policy at Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina

Crystal Kelly has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Crystal currently serves as the Vice President of Programs and Policy at Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina since July 2022. Previously, they worked at The Childrens Council of Watauga County Inc. where they held multiple roles, including Director of Strategic Initiatives from September 2018 to July 2022 and Executive Director from January 2012 to September 2018. In these positions, Crystal was responsible for program and policy development, stakeholder engagement, budget management, fundraising, and staff supervision. Crystal also worked as a Teen Parenting Program Coordinator at the same organization from January 2010 to January 2012. Additionally, Crystal worked as a Graduate Faculty/Adjunct Instructor at Appalachian State University from August 2012 to July 2022, teaching classes focused on group facilitation and community and organizational practice. Crystal also served as an Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist at Easter Seals from February 2011 to April 2012. Crystal's earlier experience includes serving as a Program Director at Western Youth Network from November 2004 to January 2006, where they coordinated prevention services and secured grants for youth programs. Prior to that, they worked as a Family Advocate/Service Coordinator at Wraparound Care for Families from October 2002 to October 2004.

Crystal Kelly completed a post graduate certificate in Maternal Child Health Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the year 2011. Prior to that, between 2008 and 2009, they earned a Master's of Social Work degree in Community and Organizational Practice from Appalachian State University. Crystal Kelly's undergraduate education was also at Appalachian State University, where they obtained a Bachelor's of Social Work degree in Children and Families from 1996 to 2000.
