J. Scott VanEpps has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and organizations. J. Scott started their career in 2001 as a Pre-doctoral Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh, where they worked until 2009. During this time, they also served as an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenator (ECMO) Technician at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh from 2004 to 2007.

In 2009, they joined the University of Michigan Health System as a House Officer and worked there until 2013. J. Scott then became a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Michigan Medical School from 2013 to 2016.

In 2016, VanEpps started working at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor in the departments of Emergency Medicine and Biomedical Engineering. In 2018, they took on the additional role of Associate Director at the Max Henry Weil Institute for Critical Care Research and Innovation.

Most recently, VanEpps founded Prevada Medical in 2022, where they serve as the Founder and Lead Scientist.
