Erik Rhyne is an experienced sports writer currently working at Press Republican since August 2022, alongside freelance writing since September 2018, where coverage focuses on significant topics and maintaining a personal blog. Previous experience includes a sports internship at dotFM® from May 2018 to March 2023, where the role involved a blend of remote work and sports-focused writing while completing a degree at Appalachian State. Erik has also worked in various capacities, including a Produce/Sales Associate at Food Lion, an Assistant at Water Intrusion Prevention Products Group, and a Student Assistant/Intern with Appalachian State University's Sports Information. Early career roles include a Frost Desk Clerk at Appalachian Hospitality Management and progressing from Intern Writer to Sports Editor at The Appalachian. Erik holds two degrees in Journalism from Appalachian State University, completed between 2004 and 2018.
