Amanda Birch has an extensive work experience in various roles within the senior living industry. Amanda started their career as an Associate Administrator and Corporate Trainer at Sunrise Senior Living, where they oversaw the management of an Assisted Living community. Amanda then served as the Administrator of The James, a Memory Support community within Sunrise Senior Living.

Following their time at Sunrise, Amanda joined Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, Inc. as the Administrator of Assisted Living, where they successfully planned, developed, and implemented operations for the department. Amanda later became the Director of Support Services at the same organization, where they managed various divisions and led the development of a Wellness Center/Clinic project.

Amanda then transitioned to CARF International, Aging Services & CARF-CCAC, where they served as the Administrator of Operations. Amanda played a crucial role in the integration and merger of CCAC by CARF International, overseeing business processes and communication with stakeholders.

Amanda currently holds the position of Vice President of Human Resources at Westminster Communities of Florida. In this role, they lead HR projects, including accreditation initiatives and enhancement of training and educational opportunities. Amanda also provides consultation on workplace culture and oversees compensation, benefits, and recruiting programs.

Amanda Birch has a diverse education history. Amanda attended Virginia Commonwealth University from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Long-Term Health Care Management, focusing on the fields of Health Care, Business, and Policy. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of Lynchburg from 1997 to 2000 and earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a concentration in Business.

In addition to their degrees, Amanda has acquired various certifications throughout their career. In 1995, they obtained a license as a Nursing Home Administrator from the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Health Professions. Amanda also attained the Certified Foodservice Manager certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia, although the specific month of achievement is unknown. Furthermore, in 2016, they received the Nursing Home Administrator certification from the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance.

More recently, Amanda has earned several professional certifications. Amanda obtained the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. In February 2023, they achieved the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Lastly, Amanda holds a Certified Professional Aging Services Risk Management certification from ECRI, although the specific date of attainment is unknown.
