Dakota Killpack began their work experience in 2009 as an Undergraduate Researcher at Princeton Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (PSURE). In 2013, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Princeton University, where they conducted research on applications of genetic algorithms for music composition. From 2015 to 2016, Dakota worked at Recurse Center as a Student, studying academic literature on music information retrieval and topic modeling. They also created a data processing pipeline for a social media topic modeling system. In 2015, Dakota joined NextAngles as a Software Engineer, developing a model-driven application to automate financial regulatory compliance. Finally, in 2016, they joined Predata, first as a Data Scientist and then as the Director of Machine Learning.
Dakota Killpack completed a Bachelor's Degree at Rutgers University from 2008 to 2011. Later, they attended Princeton University and obtained a Master's Degree in Musicology from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, Dakota pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree at Princeton University from 2012 to 2017; however, they did not complete their Ph.D., as they left the program at the "All But Dissertation" (ABD) stage.
