Alana Walker has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Alana started their career in 2012 as an Editorial Assistant at BLAC Detroit Magazine. From 2014 to 2015, they served as the Arts & Entertainment Editor at The South End. In 2015, they briefly worked as an Associate Producer at MetroArts Detroit. In 2016, they became an Associate Editor at BLAC Detroit Magazine and held the position until 2017. Alana then joined Precise Home Health Care Services as the Director of Operations in September 2017.

Alana Walker received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Broadcast Journalism from Wayne State University, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, they also completed a Web Development Intensive course at the New York Code + Design Academy. Prior to their university education, Alana earned a high school diploma from Wylie E. Groves High School from 2007 to 2011. It is unclear if they pursued any further education at the New York Code + Design Academy.
