Doug Safreno has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Doug is currently the Co-founder and CEO of Gentrace, a position they have held since April 2019. Prior to this, they co-founded StacksWare in 2015, a start-up that was later acquired by Avi Networks in September 2017. At StacksWare, they were involved in the development of software applications and made critical decisions based on end user activities and software usage trends.
Before their role at StacksWare, Doug worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Asana in 2014, where they developed and onboarded engineers onto an Android app, focusing on functionalities such as authentication, task lists, inbox, and quick add. Doug also had a part-time role after the summer internship, contributing to the app's launch in January.
In 2013, they gained further experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Palantir Technologies, working on web mapping technology and developing front-end features using different programming languages and frameworks.
Prior to that, they worked as a Software Development Intern at Groupon in 2012, where they developed a full stack Ruby on Rails application and integrated it with Google Drive as a RESTful JSON API. Doug also contributed to the front-end development using Backbone JS and CSS 3.
In 2011, Doug worked as a Web Developer at Stanford University, where they utilized technologies such as Silverlight & Microsoft Blend, asp.net, and SQL Server to enhance the display and styling of course-related data on the Stanford Online platform.
Doug's earliest work experience was as an intern at Trust Automation in 2009.
Doug Safreno attended St. Ignatius College Prep from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Following that, they pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Stanford University from 2011 to 2015.
