Deb Matties is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in privacy governance, compliance, and consumer protection. Currently serving as a Partner at Practus, LLP since February 2024, Matties previously held the position of Partner at Outside GC LLC, where work focused on assisting tech and consumer startups with legal matters. Notably, Matties served as General Counsel for the District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Technology Officer, managing legal operations for a large technical agency, and played a significant role during a special assignment for public health initiatives. Other key roles include Director of Partnerships and General Counsel at Consumers' Checkbook and President of Herd on the Hill, a civic engagement organization. Matties has also contributed to privacy initiatives as Vice President at CTIA and as an Attorney Advisor at the Federal Trade Commission, emphasizing consumer protection and data privacy.
