Bernd S. has an extensive work experience in the financial industry. Bernd began their career in 2004 as an Associate, High Grade Bond Syndicate Trader at Lehman Brothers. In 2007, they joined Credit Suisse International as a Commodity Derivatives/Options Trader. In 2010, they worked as a Systematic Trading Consultant, where they consulted on systematic trading strategies and provided backtesting services to clients. From 2011 to 2014, they were the Head of Commodities Derivatives Trading/Hedging at Alaska Metals. Bernd then moved to Thomson Reuters, where they were the Global Head of Metals (Base, Precious, Iron Ore). In 2018, they joined Refinitiv as Global Head of Metals & Iron Ore, where they grew global revenue and terminal sales with a strong business development + strategy focus in the Americas, EMEA and Asia. In 2020, they became the Head of Buy Side Sales at the London Metal Exchange. Most recently, they joined PowerTrade as the Head of Institutional Sales & Business Development + Strategy, where they are responsible for European USDC cash-settled #BTC + #ETH options, option RFQ screen for block trades, a derivatives suite, SPAN/Portfolio Margin, and Multi-Collateral Margin.

Bernd S. attended Harvard Business School from 2003 to 2003, where they obtained a degree in Economics & Derivatives. Bernd then attended WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) from 1999 to 2002, where they obtained a Master of Commerce in Capital Markets & Corporate Finance. Bernd S. also has two certifications from Alteryx, a Designer Advanced Certificate obtained in August 2020 and a Designer Core Certificate obtained in June 2020.
