Nicolas Michiels is a principal and attorney at Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville PC since September 2010, specializing in advising educational institutions on compliance with state and federal standards and representing post-secondary schools in audit and program review proceedings before the US Department of Education. Prior experience includes roles as a law clerk and summer associate at the same firm, a summer associate at the National Security Archive where Nicolas developed a guide for Freedom of Information Act requesters, and a paralegal clerk in the education practice group at Hogan & Hartson, LLP. Nicolas also contributed as a project assistant for the National Democratic Institute and completed an internship at BRABUS NORTH AMERICA, producing a service guide for clients.
