David Surls has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the software development industry. David most recently worked at PowerPlan, Inc. as the Senior Director of Software Development, where they led teams responsible for developing and supporting SaaS-based solutions. Prior to that, they worked as an Independent Consultant for a full-service, multi-channel solutions provider in the healthcare industry.

Before that, David held several positions at ABB Enterprise Software, including Senior Director of Product Development for Energy Portfolio Management and Director of Software Engineering. During their time there, they led various initiatives to improve the development process and migrate to a cloud-based solution.

David also worked at Ventyx and NewEnergy Associates as a Director of Software Engineering, where they provided technical leadership and strategic direction for multiple applications and teams.

Before transitioning into software development, David started their career at Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Co as an Associate Manufacturing Engineer.

David Surls completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Chemistry from Berry College between 1982 and 1986. David obtained an additional certification as a Certified IPSAT Coach from nexleader LLC in August 2019.
