Michael Corbishley has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Michael currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at PowerGen Renewable Energy, a position they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Commercial Director at the same company from April 2021 to January 2022. Michael also served as the Country Director for Sierra Leone at PowerGen Renewable Energy from February 2019 to March 2021.
Before joining PowerGen Renewable Energy, Michael worked at Rafiki Power as the Commercial and Controlling Manager from November 2016 to January 2019. Michael also gained experience as a Financial Analyst at Williams Lea from March 2013 to October 2016, and in sales and marketing at trivago GmbH from March 2012 to March 2013.
Michael has also worked as a Freelance Analyst and Editor for various companies from April 2011 to March 2013. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Consultant at Experian, where they were involved in research and strategy projects, data analysis, and report writing from September 2008 to April 2011.
Earlier in their career, Michael was an Economic Analyst at New Economy Manchester from August 2006 to August 2008. Michael started their professional journey as an English Teacher at the British Council from August 2003 to July 2004.
Michael Corbishley began their education at the University of Liverpool in 2000, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in History in 2003. Michael then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Policy at the University of Edinburgh from 2005 to 2006. In 2011, Michael attended the Dusseldorf Volkshochsschule for an intensive German course. Concurrently, they also enrolled in the University of London (LSE) from 2011 to 2013 to earn a Diploma for Graduates in Finance through part-time, distance learning. Finally, from 2017 to 2022, Michael studied at ACCA to become a Chartered Accountant, specializing in Accounting and Finance.
