Kurt Knierim has extensive work experience in the education sector. Kurt currently serves as a Course Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver's Department of Ethnic Studies, a position they have held since August 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Colorado State University starting from December 2014. Their earliest work experience dates back to August 1992 when they began working as a Teacher for Poudre School District.

Kurt Knierim holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in History, which they obtained from Colorado State University between 2009 and 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from the same institution, completing their undergraduate education from 1985 to 1990. In 1998, Kurt pursued further studies in education and obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree from Lesley University, where they specialized in Education. Following their academic achievements, they obtained a Professional Teacher License from the Colorado Department of Education in November 1990.
