Simon Merschroth is a Research Analyst and Project Manager at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, focusing on the PREVIEW project to develop a global index on vulnerabilities to climatic and conflict hazards. Previous experience includes a paid research internship at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, where Simon analyzed survey data related to decent living standards, and a research assistant role at the University of Vienna, concentrating on the migration-environment nexus in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. Simon has also held research and teaching positions at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research and Technische Universität Darmstadt, along with internships in environmental planning and energy efficiency. Simon holds a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Vienna, a research training in Environmental Science from Nagoya University, and undergraduate degrees in Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering.
