Jillian Waid is a seasoned scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since September 2019, with a robust background in research and analysis. Prior experience includes managerial roles and senior analysis at Helen Keller International from July 2011 to September 2019 and serving as the Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellow in Bangladesh from July 2009 to June 2011. Jillian's career began with roles in research and data analysis at organizations such as the Center for Microfinance and the World Bank, focusing on local governance and community action in India and Indonesia. Jillian holds a PhD in Epidemiology from Heidelberg University, an MSW in Social and Economic Development from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BA in Economics and South Asian Studies from Brown University, complemented by additional studies at St. Stephen's University and Kent State University.
