Dean Rasheed has extensive experience in software development and database expertise, currently serving as a Volunteer Contributor and Committer for the PostgreSQL Global Development Group since July 2009, focusing on feature development and major contributions such as deferrable unique constraints and row-level security. In parallel, Dean has been a Principal Software Developer and Database Expert at the University of Cambridge since October 2007, leading the design and implementation of core systems and identity management. Previously, from January 1998 to July 2007, Dean held the position of Principal Software Engineer at 1Spatial, developing advanced spatial indexing algorithms, and from October 1994 to December 1997, Dean tutored undergraduate students in Quantum Mechanics and Relativity. Dean holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics and degrees in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
