Cotton Beckfield

Manager of Information Security at Possibility Space

Cotton Beckfield has a strong background in information technology and security with a focus on DevOps and systems administration. They began their career as an Intern Production Support Developer at CIGNA Corporation in 2009 before working as an IT Consultant Supervisor at University Information Technology Services from 2008 to 2010. Cotton then held the role of Jr. Systems Administrator at Big Tick / Zen-Fire from 2011 to 2012 and Systems Administrator at Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School from 2012 to 2013. They served as the Director of Information Technology at TownSpot INC from 2011 to 2015.

In 2014, Cotton joined UC Berkeley as a Linux Systems Administrator III and in 2015 transitioned to WG Cells as a DevOps Engineer. During their time at WG Cells, they designed and implemented Dynamic Git Branching in the Puppet4 environment for enhanced testing and verification. From 2017 to 2019, Cotton worked as a DevOps Engineer at En Masse Entertainment, where they created a CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, Docker Swarm, and Traefik.

Cotton's career then took them to The Pokémon Company International in 2019, where they served as a Senior Security Engineer, responsible for creating and implementing the entire Application Security program for the company. They later transitioned to the role of Senior DevOps Engineer, where they architected and implemented infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for Pokémon TCG Live.

Most recently, Cotton Beckfield joined Possibility Space as the Manager of Information Security in 2022.

Cotton Beckfield attended Indiana University Bloomington from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Informatics. During their time at the university, they also pursued minors in Public & Environment Affairs and Psychology. In 2013, Cotton obtained a certification as a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) from Red Hat. In 2022, they furthered their education by completing a Specialization in Leadership & Management from Harvard Business School Online.
