Derek Otto is a seasoned Linux Support Engineer with extensive experience in technical support and systems administration. Currently employed at Posit PBC since August 2021, Derek has also held positions at Rackspace Technology from August 2014 to July 2021 and WiredTree from June 2011 to June 2012, where responsibilities included server setup, client technical support, and proactive network monitoring. Prior to these roles, Derek contributed to academic projects at the University of Chicago, including work as a K'iche' Maya Data Entry assistant and a Research Assistant in the Department of Anthropology. Derek holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Chicago and pursued further education at The University of Texas at Austin.
