Raymond Onuoha

Raymond Onuoha is an accomplished researcher and academic focused on the intersection of digital technology, policy, and social development. Currently serving as an Open Fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Wits Institute For Social And Economic Research, Onuoha’s work emphasizes the challenges of digital identification systems in sub-Saharan Africa and their implications for inclusive digital financial services. With extensive experience as a Research Consultant for Research ICT Africa and a Senior Fellow at the Portulans Institute, Onuoha has contributed to various projects on ICT infrastructure, e-Governance, and digital policy. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Development Policy & Practice from the University of Cape Town, a Master of Science from the University of Benin, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Federal University of Technology Owerri Nigeria. Onuoha's expertise is further bolstered by a Technology Policy Fellowship at the Lagos Business School and participation in international collaborative initiatives, such as the Africa Oxford Initiative.
