Lara Dimitrova Stoimenova is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the economics and regulatory fields. As the Founder and Managing Director of Sigma Economics since September 2020, Lara leads a consultancy that supports firms and regulatory bodies in shaping competitive environments. In addition, Lara co-founded and serves as CEO of Simulnova Software, focusing on advanced mathematical modeling and machine learning across various industries. Lara's commitment to governance is demonstrated through non-executive board roles at the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority, Portsmouth Water, and the Payment Systems Regulator, alongside a trustee position at the Reform Think Tank. Past roles include Associate Partner at DT Economics and Partner at Flint Global, with significant leadership experience at the Competition and Markets Authority and Ofcom. Lara holds a PhD in Polymer Physics from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Arts in Economics for Competition Law from King's College London.
