Robert Bartels, PE, is an accomplished Senior Project Engineer at the Portland Water District since June 2016, overseeing a team focused on water and sewer service requests for new developments, ensuring compliance with district standards through plan reviews and system designs. Prior experience includes managing civil and electrical design contracts at TriMet from March 2007 to June 2016, where Robert led the infrastructure design for electronic fare machines at 90 rail stations. At Cardno WRG, Robert worked as a Project Designer, creating comprehensive civil construction drawings and calculations, and before that, held the position of Sales Engineer at Contech, preparing proposals and designs for stormwater management products. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, obtained between 1998 and 2003, and graduated from Phoenix High School in 1998.
