Song Wang is an accomplished professional in the field of transmission planning with extensive experience at Portland General Electric as a Senior Principal Transmission Planning Engineer since June 2022 and previously served as a Principal Transmission Planning Engineer at PacifiCorp from October 2008 to June 2022. In addition to industry roles, Song Wang contributes to academia as an Adjunct Faculty member at Portland State University, teaching courses in Power System Stability and Control as well as Power System I. Moreover, Song Wang holds a leadership position as the Chair of the WECC Modeling and Validation Subcommittee since November 2016. Academically, Song Wang pursued a PhD at the University of New Brunswick, focusing on Anti-islanding Techniques for Distributed Power Generation, completing all requirements except for the dissertation.
