Mark began his career in 1994 in the for-profit world and has 19 years of experience managing $20M+ contracts for the Department of Defense. While he was over-seeing the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) support services contract, it was brought into the AbilityOne Program. In that position, Mark had the privilege of transitioning over 200 NMCP jobs to people with disabilities. That experience led Mark to make his own transition to the nonprofit world in 2012 when he joined PORTCO.
Mark is certified through the American Society of Hospital Engineers and is an experienced Registered Executive Housekeeper. Mark also received his ICE certification from the International Sanitary Supply Association, which qualifies him to provide training and consulting services to cleaning organizations interested in complying with and preparing to be certified to the Cleaning Industry Management Standard. Mark has developed comprehensive Support Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that have been ISO 9001 certified. These SOPs allow PORTCO employees to easily work toward instant success.
Outside the office, Mark spends most his free-time with family and friends either on the links or at sporting events. Mark and his wife, Janet, have four kids. In the last five years, he and his eldest son have followed the Mountaineers to football and basketball games in Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Louisiana and Florida.
