Katie (Karlin) Skelton has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Katie currently works as a Community Relations Specialist at the Port of Tacoma, where they started in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Washington State University as a Conference Manager from 2017 to 2022.

In 2016, Katie worked at the Bethel School District as a Career & College Readiness Specialist, collaborating with school administration to develop and implement a comprehensive college and career curriculum. Their responsibilities included counseling students on career readiness and managing college and career events with large attendance.

From 2006 to 2010, Katie was an Associate Director of Events at the Virginia Mason Medical Center. In this role, they coordinated and executed profitable fundraising events, generating annual revenue of over $2 million. During their time at the center, they achieved a record-breaking fundraising amount of $1.3 million through a single event.

Prior to that, Katie worked at the American Cancer Society as a Metro Market Relationship Manager from 2004 to 2006. Katie promoted and organized special events such as walks, golf tournaments, and auctions, raising over $550k annually and attracting a large number of attendees. Katie was also responsible for recruiting, training, and managing vendors, constituents, and volunteers.

In 2003, Katie worked at Pacific Lutheran University as an Assistant Director, Special Events and Programs. Katie played a key role in the development and implementation of various special events and outreach activities, including the President's Christmas Gala, Homecoming, and Family Weekend. Katie also advised the Student Alumni Association and Graduates of Last Decade special event planning and budgeting.

Katie's work experience includes a role as an Event Project Manager at Opus Agency from 2002 to 2003. Katie managed multiple nationwide marketing events for Adobe Systems Inc., handling activities booking, rate negotiation, catering coordination, and AV arrangements. Katie also managed registration systems for these events.

Katie (Karlin) Skelton completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Organizational Leadership & Management, from the University of Washington Tacoma. Katie attended the university from 2000 to 2002.
