Deanna Keller has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Deanna is currently serving as the Port of Tacoma Commissioner and as the Managing Member of the Northwest Seaport Alliance since January 2020. Prior to this, they worked as an Outside Sales Representative for SANDOVAL CUSTOM CREATIONS, INC. starting in April 2020. From 2008 to March 2020, they held the position of President at KelTech Plastics, Inc. Deanna also has experience in the education field, having served as an Elementary Principal in both Clover Park School District from 2006 to 2008 and Puyallup School District from 1998 to 2006. Deanna began their career in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as a Staff Sergeant and Clarinetist in "The President's Own" United States Marine Band from 1983 to 1988.

Deanna Keller attended Western Washington University from 1975 to 1979, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Education and Music.
From 1981 to 1984, Deanna Keller pursued their Master's degree in Music at Northwestern University.
In 1984, Deanna Keller continued their studies at The Catholic University of America as a Ph.D. Candidate in Music History until 1986.
Later on, in 1996 and 1998, Deanna Keller attended City University, where they earned a Principal Credential in Education.
In addition to their academic achievements, Deanna Keller has obtained various certifications. In March 1979, they received a K-12 Teaching Certificate from the OSPI - Washington State. In January 2017, they obtained the Veteran Owned Business certification from the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs. In April 2017, Deanna Keller also acquired the Veteran Owned Small Business certification from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Center for Verification and Evaluation. Finally, in February 2017, they obtained the Women's Business Enterprise certification from OMWB. Additionally, Deanna Keller obtained the P-12 Principal certification from the OSPI - Washington State in March 1998.
