Alisa Praskovich, PMP, CPE has a diverse work experience spanning various industries, primarily in the maritime and transportation sectors. Alisa currently holds the position of Chief, Strategic Projects & Commission Relations at the Port of Tacoma, where they support the implementation of strategic initiatives and oversees the Real Estate, Government Affairs, and Communications Departments. Prior to this, they served as VP, Sustainability at Crowley, where they led the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts into the company's vision and culture. Alisa also held several roles at Crowley, including Senior Director of Safety, Quality, and Sustainability, Manager of LNG Business Development, and Manager of Operations Integrity.

Before joining Crowley, Alisa Praskovich worked in the U.S. Coast Guard for over a decade. Their roles included Chief of Prevention Department at U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville, where they managed a large team and oversaw inspections and regulatory oversight of vessels and personnel. Alisa also served as an Ocean Policy Advisor, advising the National Ocean Council on policy activities related to the stewardship of the ocean, coasts, and the Great Lakes. Additionally, they held the position of Prevention Division Chief at the U.S. Coast Guard Deputy Commandant for Operations.

Alisa Praskovich's career began as a Graduate Student at the University of Washington's School of Marine Affairs. Prior to that, they served in the U.S. Coast Guard in various capacities, including Chief of Vessel Inspections on the Great Lakes and Marine Inspector. Alisa also held roles as Chief of Waterways Management Branch, Operations Officer at the U.S. Coast Guard 13th Coast Guard District Office of Aids to Navigation, and Deck Watch Officer on board U.S. Coast Guard cutters.

Overall, Alisa Praskovich brings extensive experience in strategic project management, sustainability, maritime operations, and regulatory compliance to their current role at the Port of Tacoma.

Alisa Praskovich has a diverse educational background, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Eckerd College, which they obtained from 1991 to 1995. Their studies during this time focused on Chemistry and Marine Biology.

In 2007, Alisa pursued further education at the University of Washington, where they obtained a Master's degree in Marine Affairs from 2007 to 2009. Their studies during this period encompassed a wide range of subjects such as Public Policy, Economics, Maritime Law, Logistics, and Oceanography.

To enhance their leadership skills, Alisa completed a one-year Executive Leadership Development program at the University of North Florida from 2013 to 2014. This program provided their with a Certificate in Executive Leadership Development.

Alisa has also obtained several additional certifications to expand their knowledge and skills. In 2007, they obtained a certificate in Global Trade, Transportation & Logistics from the University of Washington. In 2015, they earned the designation of Maritime Port Executive from the International Association of Maritime and Port Executives. Additionally, in 2016, Alisa attained a Certificate in Maritime Safety Management from Lloyd's Maritime Academy.

Most recently, in 2019, Alisa achieved the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, further validating their expertise in project management.

Furthermore, Alisa Praskovich has demonstrated their commitment to ongoing professional development by obtaining a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021.
