Teresa Cummins has an extensive work history in the field of health and safety. Teresa began their career as an Occupational Health Nurse at Hecla Mining in 2008 and later became the Health & Safety Manager at Hecla Greens Creek Mining Company in 2011. In 2015, they joined Seattle Children's as the Manager of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing, and later became the Director of Occupational Health, Safety, & Wellbeing. Teresa then transitioned to the role of Director - Workforce and Environmental Health and Safety at Seattle Children's in 2018. Currently, they serve as the Director of Health and Safety at the Port of Seattle.
Teresa Cummins holds a BSN degree in Nursing from Point Loma Nazarene University, which they completed from 1982 to 1986. Teresa later pursued a Master's degree in Occupational Health & Safety from Columbia Southern University, which they earned between 2010 and 2013. In 2013, Teresa obtained the certification of Certified Mine Safety Professional from the International Society of Mine Safety Professionals. The following year, in 2014, they achieved the certification of Certified Occupational Health Nurse - Specialist from the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses.
