Yessenia Carlos has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. Yessenia began their career as an Office Assistant and Community Volunteer at Willamalane Park and Recreation District in 2011, where they organized events, coordinated volunteers, and assisted with inventory management. Yessenia then worked as a Drive Thru Cashier at Burger King in 2014, demonstrating skills in multitasking, working under pressure, and teamwork.

In 2014, Yessenia became the Treasurer of the League of United Latin American Citizens Council of Lane County, where they oversaw finances, organized fundraisers, and recruited members. Yessenia also gained experience as a Sales Associate at The Duck Store from 2015 to 2018, where they provided excellent customer service, processed transactions, and managed online orders.

From 2015 to 2017, Yessenia worked as a Peer Advisor at the University of Oregon's Charles H. Lundquist College of Business, advising students on degree requirements, assisting with the application process, and developing course plans. Yessenia then joined the Port of Portland in a series of roles, starting as a Human Resources Intern in 2017 and progressing to become an Administrative Services Coordinator I, Administrative Coordinator II, Human Resources Assistant, and finally a Talent Acquisition Specialist. In these roles, Yessenia gained experience in talent acquisition, relationship-building with hiring managers, job posting creation, and administrative duties.

Throughout their career, Yessenia has demonstrated a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and the ability to adapt to different environments. Yessenia has developed skills in various areas, including recruitment, diversity and inclusion, HR systems, payment processing, and record management.

Yessenia Carlos attended the University of Oregon from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration and Management, with a Minor in Spanish. Additionally, they obtained certifications in "Designing a Presentation" from LinkedIn in September 2021, "Public Speaking: Energize and Engage Your Audience" from LinkedIn in February 2021, and "HR Generalist" from HRCERTIFICATION.COM SEMINARS, LLC in November 2019.
