Jan Novak is an experienced environmental planner and scientist with a robust background in ecology and soil science. Currently serving as an Associate Environmental Planner and Scientist at the Port of Oakland since October 2017, Jan also holds the position of Senior Ecologist at AECOM, specializing in Clean Water Act regulations, wetland delineation, and species surveys. Previous roles include Senior Soil Scientist and Group Manager at URS, where Jan focused on wetland regulatory matters and project management, as well as roles at Huffman & Associates and David J. Powers & Associates involving wetland delineations and CEQA/NEPA documentation. Jan earned a degree in Soil Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and has been engaged in various environmental compliance and restoration initiatives throughout a professional career spanning over two decades.
