Austen Portz is a seasoned engineering leader with a wealth of experience in technology and product development. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Poppulo since December 2024, Portz previously held the position of VP Engineering at Scope AR, a leader in enterprise-class augmented reality solutions. From 2006 to 2023, Portz was with Sonic Foundry Inc., progressing through various roles, including SVP of Engineering, where oversight of cross-functional teams and transition to agile methodologies were key accomplishments. Prior leadership positions involved directing hardware and software development, managing product lines, and spearheading significant engineering initiatives. Portz co-founded Aerial Imagery and began a career in engineering with a BSEE in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
